a seaside wedding
When Hannah & Jason began planning their dream wedding with us in the spring of 2019, none of us could have predicted the incredible journey that lay ahead. Their original plan was a Fall 2020 wedding along the Seacoast of New Hampshire, where Hannah had grown up in Portsmouth. But as with many couples planning during the pandemic, their wedding story became one of flexibility, resilience, and love.
A New Hampshire Wedding with New York Roots
Living in New York City during the planning process, Hannah & Jason brought our team on to design and coordinate an unforgettable four-day wedding weekend for their family and friends. Their vision included:
A Friday night Shabbat Dinner at Martingale Wharf
A Saturday Welcome Party at Strawbery Banke Museum
A Sunday Wedding Ceremony & Reception at the iconic Seacoast Science Center
A Monday Farewell Brunch at The Sheraton Hotel in Portsmouth
Each event was curated with intention, cultural meaning, and celebration in mind.
Navigating Multiple COVID-19 Postponements
Originally scheduled for October 2020, the couple made the difficult (but wise) decision to postpone their wedding to Fall 2021 due to COVID-19. Our team immediately got to work, renegotiating contracts, adjusting logistics, and even securing a new vendor team when some original vendors became unavailable.
As summer 2021 approached, with continued uncertainty in the world and their own personal reflection, including the arrival of their first baby, Hannah & Jason made one more change: postponing again to Fall 2022.
Despite all the challenges, we remained committed to bringing their celebration to life. Some vendors even came out of retirement or temporarily reopened their businesses to work the wedding—a testament to the relationships built and the love surrounding this couple.
Transforming the Seacoast Science Center into a Custom Coastal Wedding Venue
Even without pandemic complications, this wedding was a large-scale production. At the Seacoast Science Center, we replaced the standard seasonal tent with a custom sailcloth tent on top of a hardwood floor, sourced from two different companies over the course of the postponements. We crafted weather contingency plans for every event—and ultimately used them, as the forecast didn’t cooperate on the wedding day.
With 200+ guests attending multiple events, each gathering was designed to feel unique, personal, and equally as important as the wedding day itself. No detail was overlooked, from layout logistics and vendor coordination to guest experience and ambiance.
A Weekend Worth the Wait
Three years. Two postponements. One baby.
And finally, one unforgettable wedding weekend.
Planning this wedding was a journey we’ll never forget. Through every twist and turn, Hannah & Jason stayed grounded in what mattered most: love, family, and celebration. It was an honor to be a part of their story and bring this New Hampshire coastal wedding dream to life.
